Triathlon Distances

Triathlon is an activity that combines swimming, cycling, and running in one event. The Olympic, or “standard” distance in triathlon is a 1500 metre swim, 40 kilometre bike, and 10 kilometre run.

There are several distances for triathlon races. Sprint distances vary from race to race, but the other distances are consistent with the lengths shown in the table below. The Half and Full distances are commonly referred to as Half Ironman and Ironman distances respectively. Half Ironman races can also be referred to as Ironman 70.3′s, with the number 70.3 representing the total mileage of the race.

In Phuket we have  a unique triathlon distance in “The Laguna Phuket Triathlon” 1.8K swim, 55K bike and 12K run. Triathlete will be racing through a spectacular tropical scenery at Phuket Thailand.
